Class critique 4/05/17

The Image below shows the work Patrick and I took to class for critique. We had 2 main ideas on how we wanted to approach our webpage. 1, with motion graphics on the main screen with a car, bus and train moving across the screen, and our second idea of having an illustrated globe with all the aspects of global warming and showing general living on Earth.

After our critique in class on Thursday 4/05/17 and sketching up a new web page wiht our new ideas, Patrick and I have joined both of our thoughts on whats the best approach for our web page. Our colour scheme, placement on the page, where our motion graphic works most effective on the page for our veiwers and what we need to do next to deliver in class next week.

What we are doing next:

  • Using the globe on the main page. This is because the globe gives the viewers more of an idea and insight on what our web page is about, where the cars could just represent Wellington Traffic. The globe tells us we are talking about the world, and gives the audience an idea of the energy or emissions we use of Earth. The globe tells the audience there is life on Earth, a bike which shows no emissions used, cars with fumes coming out the exhaust which indicate we use emissions, a train which shows public transport, and power plants ect which show more fumes released in to air.
  • Colour palate. Were have decided to go with bright and dull colours as it works well with the layout of segments on our web page. These colours look more professional compared to the pinks ect.
  • Writing information under each icon. This is a simple and easy way for the consumers to engage in our subject.
  • Moving the motion graphics to the second section, rather than the third. This allows the audience to automatically get caught up in what we are trying to tell as the generation today is more advanced than ever before, and we would prefer to watch a video clip to reading an article.
